Tree Removal & Trimming Cost Guide — Murrieta & Temecula

Honest 2026 price ranges for tree work around Murrieta, Temecula, Menifee, Wildomar, and the rest of Southwest Riverside County. The ranges below are what local homeowners actually pay — written by the crew quoting the jobs, not a national average.

How much does tree removal cost in Murrieta?

Most residential tree removals in our service area fall between $500 and $2,800. The two biggest swing factors are how big the tree is and how hard it is to get the wood out. A 50-foot ash in an open front yard is a different job than a 50-foot eucalyptus leaning over a pool.

sizerangenotes
Small (under 30 ft)$200 – $600Young ornamentals, small fruit trees, easy drop zone.
Medium (30 – 60 ft)$500 – $1,400Most Murrieta front-yard ash, jacaranda, or mid-size pine.
Large (60 – 90 ft)$1,200 – $2,800Mature Coast Live Oak or large eucalyptus with rigging.
Very large (90 ft+)$2,500 – $5,500+Full canopy removals, crane assist, or tight backyard access.

Coast Live Oak removals

Coast Live Oaks are protected in some Riverside County jurisdictions and almost always sit close to a structure. Expect the upper end of the size range above, plus a slower rigged removal. We never top oaks — if the tree can be saved with a crown reduction, that's almost always cheaper than removal.

Mexican Fan Palm & date palm pricing

Palms are priced per palm, not by the hour. Mexican Fan Palms are the most common in Murrieta tracts and are also the most fire-prone species we work on — old skirted fronds are essentially kindling. Annual trimming keeps the trunk clean and the canopy healthy.

Mexican Fan Palm trim (skinning + frond removal)$80 – $250 per palm
Mexican Fan Palm removal (under 40 ft)$300 – $700
Mexican Fan Palm removal (40 – 70 ft)$600 – $1,500
Date palm trim with seed pod removal$150 – $450 per palm

Tree trimming cost ranges

Trimming is priced by tree, not by hour. The goal is to shape and balance the tree so it grows healthy and stays off your roof and the SCE service drop — not to "round it over."

sizerange
Small tree trim$150 – $400
Medium tree trim$350 – $900
Large oak / eucalyptus trim$800 – $2,200
Crown reduction or canopy thinning$500 – $1,800

What actually changes your quote

  • Tree size & species

Coast Live Oak and Red Gum Eucalyptus cost more than ash or jacaranda at the same height because the wood is heavier and the rigging is slower. Mexican Fan Palm pricing is driven by height plus how skirted the trunk is.

  • Access

A front-yard tree we can drop and chip from the curb is the cheapest job we do. Backyard trees behind a 36-inch gate, over a pool, or above a tile roof can double or triple the price because every piece has to be lowered by rope.

  • Proximity to structures & lines

Trees near roofs, fences, pools, and SCE service drops require a rigging plan and slower pace. Anything inside the 10-foot SCE clearance envelope adds cost — and may need a planned outage.

  • Cleanup & haul-off

Hauling chips and rounds off-site is included in our quoted price. If you want the rounds left for firewood, ask and we'll discount accordingly.

  • Emergency vs. scheduled work

Same-day storm response carries a premium because crews are re-routed. Scheduling the same removal a week out is usually 15–30% less.

  • Stump grinding

We do not currently offer stump grinding. If you need it, we'll quote the removal and recommend a local grinder for the stump.
